Behind the show.
Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller lead this BBC sketch series, playing an assortment of recurring characters whose polished appearances conceal ridiculous behavior. Its best-known creations include World War II pilots who speak with upper-class accents but use modern teenage slang. Social embarrassment, sudden tonal shifts, and the contrast between setting and dialogue drive the comedy.
