The premise

Here’s the bit.

After an afternoon of kickabouts and play in the park, a curly-haired divorced dad tells his son Paul it is nearly time to head back to his mother's. When Paul quietly asks why his parents split up, the father takes a moment, then kindly and sincerely explains that the boy himself was the cause: the couple were content until he was born, and the grind of raising him while both parents held down jobs wore the marriage away, helped along by his mother's changing figure and vanishing sex drive. Having calmly placed the entire breakup on the child's shoulders, he brightly challenges Paul to a race to the cafe.

Highly quotable.

The thing is, Paul, it was all your fault.

See, mum and I were perfectly happy before you came along.

Sadly, you destroyed our relationship.
