The premise

Here’s the bit.

The host of a Food Network-style baking contest judges cakes on the theme of Thanksgiving bounty, each of which must include a mechanical element. Home baker Leo describes a detailed tribute to Plymouth governor William Bradford but reveals a shapeless lump whose moving part only makes things worse, and he decides he has shamed his homeland. British contestant Julianna, who has never celebrated the holiday, talks up a glossy turkey that turns out crude and indecent once animated, may contain actual turkey meat and starts rejecting its own stuffing. When returning baker Sandy presents a polished Pilgrim turkey, the host tries to skip her and Julianna's cake retches in her direction. Last, returning contestant Ralph gives a heartfelt speech about family before unveiling a chocolate turkey with an obscene twist, leaving the judges with a hard decision.

Highly quotable.

He may be a Puritan, but this cake is pure delicious.

I have embarrassed myself and my homeland.

Don't ask me. I'm just a cake maker.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

This is the fifth and latest Baking Championship sketch on SNL; former cast member Kyle Mooney returned as Ralph in a cameo, so Heidi Gardner's Sandy and Mooney's Ralph have appeared in every installment.

One more couldn’t hurt.
