The premise
Here’s the bit.
Helen brings her new boyfriend Brian home to meet her parents over a meatloaf dinner. Mrs. Anderson explains that her husband's jaw was wired shut after a car accident, so Mr. Anderson spends the meal sucking water, tomato soup and even a drumstick up through his nose while Brian tries to make polite conversation about college and a family party. When Helen starts choking, her bandaged father and Brian both rush to save her, and in the scramble Brian breaks Mr. Anderson's nose. A week later the family gathers for another dinner, with Dad's nose now taped up too.
