The premise
Here’s the bit.
A mock ITV1 summer trailer opens in a lamplit drawing room where Miss Marple has gathered the suspects to name a murderer. Just before the reveal, her mobile rings: her elderly, bearded husband is at home with candles lit and a roast chicken ready, wanting to know when she will be back. When a guest addresses her as Miss Marple, he concludes she has been hiding her marriage in order to seduce the aristocrats she investigates, and the call collapses into a shouting match. Off the phone, the detective turns back to the assembled guests and wonders aloud whether she might stay the night.
