Happier With Your Mouth Open

Two actors rehearse a detective scene at a grisly crime scene, but their director keeps interrupting. He wants the same dialogue delivered with more enthusiasm and increasingly open mouths. Each new take becomes less suited to the murder mystery, while the director demonstrates the exaggerated gestures he expects. The performers obediently push their smiles and voices to extremes. At the premiere, the finished scene leaves the audience baffled while its creator watches with pride.
