The premise
Here’s the bit.
Supermarket coworkers Dean and Lex strike a simple bargain over a borrowed videotape. When Dean fails to return it, he offers another movie as compensation, then adds a recorded album and dinner to the deal. Lex’s irritation repeatedly gives way to renewed trust, while Dean treats each missed commitment as a minor inconvenience. A lonely wait at a restaurant finally brings Lex to a confrontation, but another generous offer wins him over as Dean prepares to leave town with his girlfriend.
