The premise

Here’s the bit.

In a promo for SCTV's new cooking series, Dave Thomas plays Al Pacino as the Cruisin' Gourmet. Swaggering around a kitchen in an open leather shirt, he tenderizes a turkey that hangs from chains, interrogates the bird to make sure it is really dead, then hoists it up and starts stuffing it while grinning at the camera.

Say it with us

Highly quotable.

Today the gourmet's gonna teach you how to stuff a turkey, okay?

Now what you gotta do is make sure the bird is dead.

What's your preference, beaks or cheeks, huh?

Behind the scenes

The people who made it.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

This promo parodies William Friedkin's 1980 film Cruising, with Dave Thomas impersonating its star Al Pacino. The segment was replaced with a Tex and Edna Boil commercial on the episode's DVD release.

The rabbit hole continues

One more couldn’t hurt.
