Natalie Merchant and Puff Daddy's Monster Mash

On MADtv's Halloween stage, an earnest Natalie Merchant (Alex Borstein) performs a remix of a classic monster novelty song with Puff Daddy (Phil LaMarr) and Mase (Aries Spears), whose hype-man chanting about money, jewelry and sampling keeps steamrolling her folk delivery. Host Debra Wilson thanks the trio and moves the show along. Backstage, Puffy tries to woo Natalie with a joke about sampling her, and she answers with a lofty concern for the world's hungry children. Before the flirtation goes anywhere, a figure in a red hooded robe stalks them with a bloody axe, and Mase is left alone to discover his collaborators' bodies, setting off the episode's Mad-O-Ween slasher runner.

This segment belongs to the Halloween Spooktacular's murder runner, in which guest Robert Englund becomes entangled in a string of killings on the MADtv set.
