Orville: Supermarket
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
The narrator drops in on a supermarket where Orville, the green duckling famous as Keith Harris's ventriloquist partner and here a full-sized figure in costume, is quietly filling his basket. A fan named John recognises him, asks for an autograph and keeps steering the chat back to Keith. Orville insists the pair have separate lives, explains that the act is taking a break while he tries straight acting and a television audition, and politely refuses to do Keith's voice. Just as he gets back to his shopping, a passing shopper shouts the same question at him.

Say it with us
Highly quotable.
Our next stop on our journey is this supermarket, situated in the ancient Roman city of Breakdance 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Yeah, it's work. We don't spend every minute of the day together. We do have our own life as well.
We're sort of having a sabbatical at the moment.

A little extra
Notes from the archive.
Keith Harris and the real Orville puppet had appeared as themselves in a separate Little Britain sketch, among entertainers waiting to meet the royal family.
