The premise
Here’s the bit.
Jacqueline McCafferty queues to meet a fictionalised Marti Pellow, whose recovery she sees as an inspiration for her own. She expects the signing to cement a special bond, but her questions keep dragging him toward a past he wants to leave behind. When his discomfort feels like judgment, her devotion turns combative, and the encounter leaves her with a very different opinion of his music.
