The premise

Here’s the bit.

Theatrical agent Jeremy Rent wraps up a phone pitch for a client's loft extension before the tiny Dennis Waterman arrives nursing a heavy cold. Jeremy reveals that George Lucas wants Dennis to play Obi-Wan's cousin in a brand new Star Wars film. Dennis is thrilled until he learns the film already has its own music, at which point he tells Jeremy to turn it down. Jeremy tries to change his mind with talk of money and merchandise, producing a Dennis action figure that is as big as Dennis himself, but Dennis only uses it to perform the Star Wars theme song he would have written. Blaming his blocked nose for the performance, he accepts a nasal inhaler that looms enormous in his hands.

Highly quotable.

He wants you to be Obi-Wan's cousin, Kenneth Kenobi.

Star in it, write the theme tune, sing the theme tune?

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

Lucas and Walliams based the tiny caricature on their surprise, after meeting the real Dennis Waterman at an awards ceremony, that he was shorter than he looked in the fight scenes of Minder and The Sweeney. A Dennis Waterman Star Wars sketch had already featured in the first episode of the original Little Britain radio series in 2001.
