Little Britain

A VERY GOOD USE OF YOUR TIME.

The setup

A prestigious Shakespeare role is a hard sell when Dennis Waterman only wants to write the theme tune.

The premise

Here’s the bit.

Jeremy Rent thinks a theatre company has found the perfect leading role for Dennis Waterman. His diminutive client is more interested in supplying music for television, and treats the offer of Macbeth as another chance to compose a theme song. Jeremy tries to explain the demands of a straight play while Dennis demonstrates his alternative approach to Shakespeare, amid office furniture and refreshments that dwarf him.

Highly quotable.

They've already got a theme tune.

Mine's much better.

Well, it's not much time, is it, to write a new theme tune?

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

The real Dennis Waterman performed the theme for Minder; Gerard Kenny and Patricia Waterman are credited with its music and lyrics, respectively.
