The premise

Here’s the bit.

Framed as a trailer for a horror film, the sketch finds Governor Babbitt and his fellow Texas officials hiding in the darkened governor's office while something lurks outside. They bicker over who let the power grid fail and who left for a trip to Mexico, lay their pistols on the desk and vow to hold the room like the Alamo. Blood-red title cards announce that the state is about to face its worst nightmare while the governor cowers and screams in a restroom, and the dreaded horror is revealed to be a trans girl at the stall door, who looks at the terrified men with mild embarrassment and slips away.

Say it with us

Highly quotable.

Boys, we don't settle disputes by yelling. This is Texas. We draw guns.

No matter what happens out there, we'll defend this room like it's the Alamo.

This is the girls' room.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

This sketch premiered in the second episode of the show's fifth season, the 2022 Paramount+ revival, and lampoons Texas politicians' focus on transgender restroom access.
