The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
A man working at his laptop is startled when his climax ends in a shower of confetti, and he is rushed to a clinic where a grey-haired doctor quizzes him about recent encounters; the only lead is a sexual favor from a magician, and the doctor admits his medical training covered barely any magic. A nurse interrupts with breaking celebrity news, then the problem follows the patient home to bed with his wife Bridget, who skipped her birth-control pill. An ultrasound back at the clinic reveals a glittering pregnancy, newspapers and a TV reporter whip a crowd into worship of the coming baby, and the couple rush to a hospital where the delivery ends in an anticlimactic heap of confetti.
The funny people
Meet the cast. 3
Say it with us
Highly quotable.
Us doctor types only have to take one semester of magic.
We have all decided that it will be our new god.
I knew we shouldn't have walked here.
A little extra
Notes from the archive.
The opening caption dates the first scene to June 25, 2009, the day Michael Jackson died, and a nurse later interrupts the exam to announce his death.
