The premise
Here’s the bit.
A man in a shirt and tie comes home to a dark house lit only by candles, with rose petals scattered up the staircase. On the steps he finds a card inviting him upstairs, but instead of a romantic surprise he pictures a snarling, fanged flower monster lying in wait. Grim-faced, he creeps up the petal trail, grabs a baseball bat on the landing and kicks the bedroom door open, ready for battle.
