The premise

Here’s the bit.

The Reverend McFarlane Lang adapts Evensong for a visiting Cockney congregation. Maintaining his solemn delivery, he tells an elaborate parable about an impoverished father, his daughter and a charitable act, replacing ordinary words with rhyming slang. Familiar religious storytelling grows steadily more suggestive as the vocabulary takes over, and an apparently crude incident turns out to have an unexpectedly innocent explanation.
