The premise

Here’s the bit.

Bert waits on the porch under a full moon in a romantic mood, but Molly arrives cold and cross, sure that after 62 years of marriage he has let their anniversary slip by without a card, candy or flowers. Bert insists his memory is fine, and the pair trade jabs about chores, old anniversary presents and how long it has been since they last enjoyed some marital romance. Just as Molly gives up on him, Bert produces a ribboned box holding a string of pearls, explaining that each pearl stands for one of their happy years together. Molly is touched, but she still finds a joke in the necklace's catch and turns down Bert's hopes for the rest of the evening with one last excuse.

Highly quotable.

And the only flowers I've seen today are the ones printed on the toilet tissue.

Yeah, we've been going downhill ever since.

They still deliver, but it takes forever.
