The premise

Here’s the bit.

In a Transylvanian castle in 1931, Cynthia writes home that marrying royalty has not lived up to her hopes, while the hunched servant Igor lurches around making a poor impression. When Dracula returns at dawn, every romantic advance falls flat: she slips him tomato juice instead of blood, grumbles about eight years without a single dinner out and begs him to get rid of Igor. Faced with talk of divorce, the Count hypnotizes her into a vampire, drills her on the proper accent with a tongue twister, and finally agrees to take the family out, which brings their son Junior climbing out of his coffin in a baby bonnet.

Say it with us

Highly quotable.

Eight years of marriage and all I have to show for it is a permanent hickey.

Yes, but I have the heart of an 18-year-old boy. It's in my room upstairs.

All right, I'll put in some fresh dirt.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

The on-screen title card reads "The Bat and the Beautiful" and sets the scene in 1931 Transylvania. The official clip description gives season 1, episode 25, but the official full-episode upload, TVDB and IMDb place the sketch in episode 24 (March 4, 1968), with guests Imogene Coca and Mel Tormé.
