Woody Allen's Bride of Frankenstein
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Billed as the next re-imagined horror classic after Coppola's Dracula, this film parody restages Woody Allen's handheld, interview-heavy Husbands and Wives among classic movie monsters. Gabe, a bandaged, bespectacled mummy who teaches a class on curses, is stunned when friends Frank (Frankenstein's monster) and his Bride, Judy, announce they are separating. Gabe dotes on Rain, a young student who flatters his hexes, while Frank takes up with Christine, a lively human who puts him on herbal teas and a vegan diet. When an angry, torch-waving mob turns up, Frank realizes what he gave up and returns to Judy. Confessional interviews punctuate the story, ending with the mummy's lament that the worst part of life is living forever.

Highly quotable.
She wraps me up and, you know, puts me to sleep and I, you know, take a nap for a thousand years.
I haven't been that frightened since I saw the colorized version of Casablanca.
For the last time, I'm not Frankenstein! I'm Frankenstein's monster!
A little extra
Notes from the archive.
A monster-movie spoof of Woody Allen's 1992 film Husbands & Wives, copying its quasi-documentary interviews and its opening-credit typeface; Frank stands in for Sydney Pollack's character from the film.
