Vampires: Alpha Course
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Pharius and Horschstadt sweep into an Alpha Course evening convinced the crowd of earnest believers is a buffet of untouched maidens, and Pharius is especially hopeful of finding a girl he once met at Thorpe Park. The friendly leaders offer soft drinks and launch into talk of identity, mortality and eternal life, and the vampires' alarmingly literal answers about mirrors and death are cheerfully taken as signs of spiritual openness. Pharius's acquaintance Camilla arrives delighted to see him, and he presents his companion under an absurdly long noble title, only for the group to reveal that the night will be spent with Jesus. Horschstadt begs for a retreat from this nest of vipers while Pharius would happily stay, until a warm welcome from a newcomer named Bethany changes Horschstadt's mind and both vampires end up joining the guitar singalong.
