The Restaurant of Life

At an unusual restaurant, four young customers choose degrees, spouses and careers while paying with years of their lives. The waitress takes their orders briskly, but the results rarely match their expectations. As the group ages, ambition, parenthood and midlife disappointment give way to retirement and a reckoning with how they spent their time. The older diners finally notice a new generation arriving and offer it a mixed inheritance.
