Monster Chiller Horror Theatre: Dr. Tongue's Evil House of Pancakes
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Horror host Count Floyd plugs this Saturday's Monster Chiller Horror Theatre feature, a supposed 1956 3-D classic called Dr. Tongue's Evil House of Pancakes that he admits he hasn't seen. The first clip consists of Dr. Tongue looming in a parlour and pushing a plate of pancakes at the camera. Unconvinced, Floyd has the crew skip ahead to a frightening part, but the second clip is more of the same, this time with syrup. Floyd insists the flying pancakes were terrifying, riffs on which kinds of pancakes scare him most, concedes the movie isn't one of the show's big ones, promises giveaways and signs off with his wolfish howl.

Highly quotable.
Would you like some more pancakes?
Even Count Floyd wasn't scared of that, and I get scared real easy.
Did you see those pancakes coming right out at you?

Notes from the archive.
Writer Bill Oakley chose this promo for the first installment of Splitsider's 'Sketch Anatomy' column in May 2014, calling it a distillation of SCTV's recurring Dr. Tongue 3-D horror parodies.
