Escape the Room

A couple whose friends cancel are paired with Kath and Dave at an escape room. The self-appointed experts arrive loaded with equipment and immediately take charge, dismantling the safety features and treating ordinary props as threats. As their search for clues turns into frantic destruction, the quieter newcomers work through the puzzle while their teammates lose their grip.

In a Stereogum interview, Carrie Brownstein said she had played escape rooms herself and described the sketch as an exaggerated version of players taking the activity too seriously.
