Les Mis

In a foggy French street, a uniformed inspector confronts a man who stole bread. His attempt to explain the arrest keeps colliding with the fugitive’s solo, a woman’s family troubles, marching revolutionaries and a pair of pickpockets. As the ensemble grows louder and more theatrical, the inspector becomes increasingly frustrated with the musical conventions surrounding him.

The song “Les Mis” received a 2014 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics, recognizing Joshua Funk for music and Rebecca Drysdale for lyrics.
