Non-Scary Movie
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Leaving the theater after a demon-possession horror movie, two friends trade dismissive reviews: a demon hiding in a trash can, a puddle that drags people to hell, roaming hellhounds and whispering creepy kids are all declared stupid and unrealistic. Their tough talk is undercut by everything they do on the way out. Each insists on walking the other to his car and back, they leap over a puddle in perfect unison, and a barking dog sends one into the other's arms. At the car, a joke about the vehicle being possessed dissolves into nervous laughter, they search around and under it, and they end up lingering against the trunk, still agreeing the movie was not scary at all.

Say it with us
Highly quotable.
It's like a lullaby, dog.
A demon can possess any inanimate object? That's too general to be scary.
It's a lot of things, but scary is not one of them.
