SKETCH-O-VISION
A VERY GOOD USE OF YOUR TIME.

The setup

A socially conscious rapper's sober anthem about hard times keeps getting derailed by his featured collaborator, a flashy party rapper with only filth on his mind.

The premise

Here’s the bit.

Shot as a gritty street music video, Da Struggle, a tweed-capped poet of a rapper, introduces himself as a voice for the community and lays down earnest verses about growing up with nothing and treating hip hop as a pulpit. Each time he hands the mic over, his featured guest Bling Benzy bursts in with a gold-chained entourage and answers the uplifting message with gleefully vulgar boasts about sex, partying and women. Da Struggle tries to steer the song back to a tribute to a hardworking single mother, only for Benzy to grab hold of her and turn it into another crude chorus. Defeated, Da Struggle walks off alone down the empty street while Benzy keeps celebrating.
