Amy boards her building's elevator and is immediately cornered by a middle-aged man who fills every second with stock pleasantries: jokes about the elevator stopping at every floor, his need for morning coffee, how fast the week is going and how rents keep rising. Amy answers with clipped politeness while the floor counter crawls downward and the camera tilts as if the car is sinking. When she finally asks whether the elevator is headed to hell, he corrects her that it has already arrived, and the doors open onto a wall of flames. Trapped with him for eternity, Amy can only wince as he moves on to remarks about the dry heat, the humidity and the news, and she ends the ride screaming.
