The premise

Here’s the bit.

Outside a country church on a Sunday morning, St John and Vanessa Robinson are startled to see their rivals Dennis and Charlotte Cooper arrive, greet them by their real family names and question whether they belong among the Church of England faithful. The Coopers insist that nothing could be more English, but their grasp of the faith keeps giving them away: Charlotte praises the English gods, a half-read King James Bible is treated like a novel with a secret ending, and the four gospels get confused with members of a pop group. When the vicar comes out to greet his congregation, Dennis hails him like a head waiter and asks for a good table for four.

Highly quotable.

And what could be more English than spending Sunday morning with a bunch of men in dresses?

That's it, Sporty and Posh.

Yes, please, not too near the band.
