The premise

Here’s the bit.

After finishing his best-known song, Ralph McTell tries to introduce some new material. The audience responds with bewilderment and increasingly insistent demands for the song he has just played. He attempts to continue with a different number, but the heckling leaves him little room to explore his repertoire. Returning to the familiar hit instantly wins the crowd back.
