The premise

Here’s the bit.

A K-Tel commercial promises a vast collection of Gordon Lightfoot performing every song ever written. Over a montage of the singer’s photographs, a Lightfoot vocal impression turns children’s songs, seasonal standards, a television theme and even an instrumental into unlikely folk performances. An announcer promotes the enormous set as a bargain while song titles scroll past, ending with a low-price sales offer.
