The premise

Here’s the bit.

At a packed White House briefing, the press secretary builds up to a historic announcement: the administration has discovered a completely new color, somewhere between red and blue but definitely not purple or indigo. When a reporter asks whether it could be maroon, the secretary has never heard of maroon, so the reporter simply holds up a maroon folder, and it is exactly the color. Deflated and stalling, the secretary introduces the President anyway, who walks out dressed head to toe in a maroon robe and headband and quietly admits how foolish he feels.
