Hiking Documentary
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
A solemn narrator follows hiker Tom Frecklebottom on day four of his climb toward a distant summit, musing about hydration and scarce food until a boulder tumbles onto him and pins him to the trail. Tom screams at the crew to put the camera down and help, but the narrator instead promises viewers they will watch the man die and decompose on that very spot. The crew calmly sets up camp, ignores his pleas for water, fetches a tripod and settles in for a time-lapse while the hours pass. When Tom is still alive two hours later, the narrator reads a line announcing that a second rock sped up his death, then badgers a reluctant crew member into hurling the rock he had been idly playing with at the protesting hiker.
