The premise
Here’s the bit.
Calling up from the sidewalk, Dave tries to recruit his friend Bill into a race war as though he were arranging an ordinary outing. Bill leans out of a window and questions the plan, while Dave offers him a military rank and worries about their mutual acquaintance Wendy. The conversation exposes how little Dave understands the racial categories he wants everyone to fight over.
