The premise

Here’s the bit.

An exhausted galley slave gets a new benchmate, Bruce Fenwick, a polite gentleman in lace and silk who greets the ship as if he had booked a cruise. Fenwick sweet-talks the whip-cracking taskmaster into fetching water, a pillow and even fishing tackle, while every favor somehow ends with his partner being soaked, scolded or struck. When Fenwick finally seizes the whip and declares he is taking over the ship, his long-suffering partner puts a stop to the troublemaker and goes back to rowing.

Say it with us

Highly quotable.

See, I tore mine because I didn't want anyone to think it was my first day on the ship.

They should have nappy poos in the afternoon.

Because I'm taking over this ship as of now.
