Frankenstein’s Bride Wants to Wait
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Shot in black and white as a pastiche of the old Universal horror films, the sketch opens as Dr. Frankenstein jolts his latest creation to life and proudly announces she is to be the Bride of Frankenstein. The Bride, stitched together from several women, is willing to listen but feels everything is moving far too fast, especially once she learns her intended is not the doctor but his hulking, grunting Monster. When the doctor tries to rush them through a wedding in the lab, she asks for a proper date, then raises practical worries about living in her new fiance’s father’s house, which the doctor and the Monster try to solve with an in-law suite and a hot tub. Just as things seem settled, she confesses that the brain she was given belonged to a woman who was already seeing someone, and she leaves to end that relationship first, while the lovestruck Monster vows to wait for her.

Say it with us
Highly quotable.
I used to be pieces of women and now suddenly I’m engaged?
Hi, I’m Melissa. Or Rebecca. Or Christine. Look, I’m pieces of many women.
I could really see us terrorizing villages together.
