The premise

Here’s the bit.

The fairy-tale witch finally has the fattened Hansel and Gretel sitting in her pot, but the siblings, unbothered and speaking in thick German accents, take over the cooking lesson. They break into jingles about helping and paprika, fault her single onion, her grimy kitchen and her missing cookware, pity her for living alone without so much as a cat, and suggest she do something about her hair. Worn down by their relentless helpfulness, the witch gives up on eating them and storms out for takeout, and the children drop their accents to reveal that annoying her was the escape plan all along.

Say it with us

Highly quotable.

Have you ever cooked child?

Yes, I am alone, and I don't care anymore. I'm going out for Chinese.

And that's how you get rid of a witch.
