You're tuned to the good stuff
Nigerian Wicked
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
A breathless trailer narrator presents Nigerian Wicked, the latest knockoff from a Nollywood studio. Trainee witches Glinda and Elphaba share a pink dorm room and clash at once: there is a slap, an argument about class and a lingering smell of egg, while their lessons are taught by an actual goat. After a makeover the pair travel to LagOz to ask the fabulously rich Wizard for favours, Glinda wanting a designer handbag and Elphaba a gravity-defying cosmetic procedure, only to find that he is broke and can offer them nothing but Baileys Irish Cream. The trailer then rushes through drama, flying monkeys and the late news that the whole film is a musical, before rolling a garbled cast list that ends with Cynthia Erivo's full name.
