The premise
Here’s the bit.
Harry, Ron and Hermione hope the Mirror of Erised will reveal the Horcruxes they need to find. Instead, its visions expose private wishes that each tries to conceal from the others. Harry imagines romance with Hermione, Hermione pictures a surprisingly domestic future with Voldemort, and Ron dreams of dancing. Their repeated visits turn the fantasies into elaborate weddings, family scenes and romantic melodrama, while their explanations become increasingly unconvincing.
