Scary Story of the Future

In the year 2052, a grandfather sits at a woodland campfire with four grandchildren dressed in neon futuristic fashion. His old tale of a murderous woodsman bores them, so he switches to something they find truly frightening: the past. He hands one grandson his ancient iPhone 5s, whose weight and thickness horrify them, then recalls patchy cell coverage, a movie download that took a full minute and a time before instant streaming, which one granddaughter recognizes from the Redbox kiosks covered in her ancient history class. His account of a 2003 trip to Blockbuster, cycling five minutes to the store, being greeted by a living human clerk and finding the movie checked out for a whole day reduces the kids to screams, and when he threatens to explain VHS tapes and rewinding they scatter into the dark woods as he calls after them.
