New Boots
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Bob and Doug McKenzie open their Canadian-content panel show by squinting at a title card that has already vanished, then let slip that the program used to be called Kanadian Korner until legal reasons forced a new name. Their only real business is a matching pair of new boots, which they prop on the coffee table to admire the spotless white soles and the identical price tags still attached. After signing off early, the brothers sit through an official-sounding crawl about Canadian content rules, crack open beers and squabble over who drank all the cold ones.
The funny people

Say it with us
Highly quotable.
We had to change it for, like, legal reasons.
Our mom got us these to keep us from biting our toenails, eh?
What'd you do, suck it off the top?
A little extra
Notes from the archive.
This was the first Great White North segment, airing in the Series 3 premiere of SCTV on 19 September 1980; SCTV Guide lists it as "Kanadian Korner 1: Introductory Show". Wikipedia notes that Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas created the brothers to mock a request for extra, identifiably Canadian content, and improvised the segments after hours.
The rabbit hole continues
One more couldn’t hurt.
