Passport to Adventure: Africa
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
On their SCTV travel program, Bob and Betty Wilson describe a two-week African holiday while wearing matching tropical outfits. Their advice concentrates on vaccinations and the distilled water they packed to avoid unfamiliar germs. A slideshow reveals a succession of Holiday Inn rooms, and the couple argue over which country each room belongs to until Betty consults her diary. They display airport souvenirs, dismiss local markets and treat foreign place names as a source of amusement. Their report reveals how carefully they insulated themselves from the places they visited, before they announce a forthcoming Australian trip.
