The premise

Here’s the bit.

Big Jim McBob delivers Hollywood box-office figures as if they were a livestock report, then welcomes guest critic Billy Sol Hurok. Billy Sol has seen a Russian film about peasants and a king, but his account of its politics keeps returning to the fate of its ruler. The pair compare it with Hollywood releases, muddle their endings and agree on the one feature that makes a movie worth seeing. Their enthusiasm for spectacular destruction eventually reaches their own studio.
