Barretta's Bird
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
An announcer plugs Barretta's Bird, a half-hour police drama built around Fred the cockatoo. In the preview clips, Fred's exasperated police chief lectures him about playing by the rules, Fred vows to do whatever it takes, and the chief is soon left with a white mess in his hair. Fred peeks around a doorframe during a gunfight, frisks a woman spread against a wall, chases a panicking crook across a parking lot and finally takes the wheel of a car as the promo announces its Tuesday-night time slot.

Highly quotable.
Bird or no bird, Fred, you're still a cop. That means you gotta play it by the rules, like everybody else.
I've never been frisked by a bird before.
