The premise
Here’s the bit.
A reggae band celebrates an unexpected source of island entertainment: a goth teenager enduring a family beach holiday. Dexter resists the sunshine, water sports and his parents’ plans while clinging to his dark clothes and gloomy outlook. An elaborate emo-rock interlude turns his suffering into a musical spectacle before the family’s attempts at fun resume.

Notes from the archive.
The emo interlude parodies My Chemical Romance’s “Welcome to the Black Parade.” The band performed the original song on Saturday Night Live on October 21, 2006.
