The premise
Here’s the bit.
A visiting detective joins Kare, a weary Pennsylvania cop, to investigate a young woman’s death. Their prestige crime drama piles on gloomy scenery, local food, tangled family relationships and increasingly impenetrable vowels. As the partner struggles to follow the townspeople, an ominous priest makes the mystery rather easy to solve.

Notes from the archive.
