The premise
Here’s the bit.
Wes Steele hires private detective Sid Dithers to find his missing daughter. Sid is easily distracted by his own family troubles and has difficulty following even the simplest part of the client’s story. An encounter with Maxine in a bar leads him to her son Bobby, who is coaching Steele’s daughter for work on the street. Sid brings the case to a close with a brisk rescue, though his hearing has not improved by the time Steele thanks him.
