The premise
Here’s the bit.
Three college students defend their science projects before a panel of judges. Two have built sophisticated experiments, while football star Ray has nailed fruit to a board. Ray promises to skip the upcoming bowl game unless he earns perfect grades, giving the judges a powerful incentive to praise everything he does. His classmates face exacting questions and open hostility when they protest, while his coach waits impatiently for practice. Even a successful science final leaves Ray with another academic hurdle.
