Bette Davis' Video Will
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
A lawyer invites Bette Davis’s son Michael and daughter Barbara to watch their mother’s recorded will. The siblings expect a quick account of their inheritance, but Davis keeps wandering into old Hollywood stories. Their attempts to skip ahead send her through frantic bursts of sped-up movement, pauses and long stretches of laughter. Even a change of tapes fails to shorten the ordeal. When she finally addresses Barbara’s inheritance, the recorded message becomes another opportunity to torment her daughter.
