The premise

Here’s the bit.

Biking past a feminist bookstore in Northeast Portland, Drew and Andy grumble that every social movement seems to be about someone else and that men now need safe spaces of their own, which for them means posting on Reddit under pseudonyms. Their complaints turn into an earnest, overblown music video in which they lead a crowd of aggrieved men through a list of imagined injustices, from women-led Hollywood remakes to the forgotten husbands of famous women. The anthem escalates through candlelit choirs and Founding Fathers costumes, and the pair end by congratulating themselves and resolving to write a new constitution that tilts even further toward men.

Say it with us

Highly quotable.

None of these movements are about us.

I'm telling you, that's why men need safe spaces too.

Yes, but let's do it this time in a way that really favors men.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.
